Wireless Babes!!

On Friday we took Jonathan and Aviendha to the doctor for a weight check and Jonathan's circumcision (Poor baby!). The doctor said that they were doing extremely well and gained weight! Jonathan is now 6 pounds 5 ounces and Avie is 6 pounds 14 ounces!! The Doctor said that they can try a week without oxygen and so now my babies are wire free!! YEAH!!!! They are getting so big!! After the visit we went and took the kids to see Grandpa. It was so fun to see my dad holding both babies.
Later that night at home I was holding the twins and looked down to see:

It was so sweet! I made Dustin take some pictures for me!! I guess my little Jonathan needed some extra cuddles after his traumatic day!!

It has been wonderful having my babies both home!! We had our first visitors on Saturday! Tonya and all the kids came over and got to hold and love Avie and Jona. Then we had some yummy tacos and played Beatles Rock Band!! Thank you!!
The babies are doing great, growing and eating!!
Today after Avie puked her lunch all over Mommy and the couch, we had a shower followed by a photo shoot. We took advantage of having them both clean and the oxygen out for a minute!! I love love the pics of them with their eyes open and nothing on their beautiful faces!!
The firs pic on the slide show is my Avie with her oxygen canula in her mouth! We can not count how many times a day we have to pull it out of her mouth and put it back in her nose!! She is so silly!!!

Last night. . .

Look who was home last night!!
Both of my little babes snuggled together at HOME!!

Jonathan in his cool outfit to come home!! This is his last NICU pic!!

Rand holding Avie!!

I am still so completely ecstatic to have both of my babies home. It is exhausting-Dustin and I got a whole 2 hours of sleep last night, but it is so worth it. They are wonderful cuddly babies that are a joy to hold, feed, and love!!
Rand is a great big bro who loves to hold and help mommy and daddy as much as possible!!

My Twins!!

It has been quite a week! Both of the babies developed some Jaundice and had to be under the lights to get that taken care of. It has been a hard week going back and forth from home and the NICU. They are both doing so well-Rand and a ton of cousins and Aunts all got to see Jonathan and Aviendha through the window last Thursday. Rand was so excited to see them both!! The great news of the week is that Sunday after being in the NICU for 13 days Aviendha was able to come home and is doing great!! Rand is loving holding her and helping mommy and daddy care for his little sister! This morning we got a call from the doctor who said that if Jonathan continues to eat well he will be able to join his sister at home Tomorrow!! I hope it all works out and that both of my babies will be home tomorrow!!!
Here are some great pics of both of my babies and their older brother!!

Aviendha and Jonathan

It has been an eventful, stressful and wonderful week. I am still in shock and awe that my babies are here!!
Aviendha has been doing extremely well. On the day she was born she was not breathing on her own and so was put on a ventilator and given surfactant to help her lungs. She handled that well and was off the vent and on oxygen by Wednesday night. On Thursday she was able to come off the oxygen and is breathing on her own. She is also eating out of a bottle (and LOVING it) and sucking her binkie!! She had her first bath on Thursday and looks absolutely precious with her bow!! There are so many little wonderful things she does that means so much to us. Avie loves being uncovered and sprawled out-her feet are always hanging out. She had some beautiful smiles for both mommy and daddy last night. When she cries it the sweetest-her chin moves at a million miles an hour!! We held her for the first time Wednesday night and gave her her first bath on Thursday. On Friday she got to see her older brother. She was able to be brought to the window so he could see her!! Rand was so excited and kept exclaiming how much he loved Aviendha.
Jonathan is doing well. When he was born he was breathing and crying much better than his little sis. He was put on oxygen but on Wednesday he was struggling and was put on the Cpap machine. He was taken off by that night and we were able to hold him. Thursday I was able to change his diaper, but that night he was not breathing very good and so was put back on the Cpap machine. On the machine he is doing well, he really just needs some help for a little while. He is quite mischievous, he loves to pull the cords and wires out of his nose which has led the nurses to put booties over his little hands. He has the cutest toes, the fourth toe on each foot curls under the others. He likes to bundled up more and Loves being on his belly-which we can get away with in the NICU because of all the monitors.
Both of my babies are precious angels and I cannot wait for the day I get to bring them both home!!

They're Here!!

Suprise, Suprise! I started having contractions around ten thirty this morning and by 2 they still were going strong, so I asked Tonya to come get Rand and Dustin took me to the doctor to see what was happening-and the verdict: I was in labor!! They tried to slow it down but the twins were ready so I had a Csection around 6:30. Jonathan was out first at 6:31 weighing at 5 pounds seven ounces. Aviendha was right behind him at 6:32 weighing 6 pounds one ounce. They are doing good. Aviendha needs just a little help breathing, but over all they are doing well. I am just grateful to be in an area that can care for them!! Thanks to all the docs, nurses and fam that are helping me and the babes!!
